Description
Join us at the Museum of Life and Science for our annual Black Excellence in Science event! We’re celebrating excellent Black scientists and STEM professionals who are making an impact right here in the Triangle area! Get hands-on with science activities, chat with the experts, and connect with community partners!
It will be a packed day with incredible opportunities for guests! Here’s what to expect:
- Hands-on activities and demonstrations with local scientists like Kendra Settles, Dr. Alex Marshall, our Insectarium manager Leon Bradford, and many more!
- Debut of Pierce Freelon’s Coco-Fro astronaut ice cream in our gift shop (and a chance to talk to the creator himself)
- A STEAM-infused Lab experience and dance performances with Purpose Learning Lab
- Space to try out DCL’s new Techies4Tomorrow game all day!
Pick up an event passport as you enter to make sure you catch all the incredible activities, performances, and opportunities to connect with local excellence!
This event is on Durham Community Day. On Durham Community Days, Durham County residents get in free with current proof of residence. All adults must have Durham residency to get in free; each adult can bring up to five children. Learn more.
