We recently had the opportunity to create our very own Candy Cottage for this review, and just in time for Easter. There was a small amount of assembly, but nothing we had to have the hubby do. Once, the house was put together, the fun began with decorating. I could not believe how much time was saved just by using The Candy Cottage, rather than the traditional gingerbread kit. We never had to worry about our daughter pressing to hard when adding the decorations. The icing attached to the cottage very well with no worries of the icing sliding down the house.
The final test was moving “The Loy Creation” cottage to a spot of distinction for us to enjoy all Easter season. Moving a gingerbread house can be the end to all the fun. If you happen to forget to place the gingerbread house on a solid movable surface before starting the project, you just might cause a catastrophe. The Candy Cottage comes with its own solid foundation. We moved our cottage from one table to another while our little Izzie (the malti-poo) stood under my feet just waiting for something to fall. Much to Izzie’s disappointment and my pleasure, the cottage safely survived the big move and I had no worries about the cottage falling apart. The weight of the cottage, even with the decorations, was very light and sturdy.
Happy Decorating!
