Together Charles & Jackson Pettee (aka Slippery Hill) invite you to join them on a journey through the multicultural sounds and instruments from around the world that make up the beautiful tapestry that is NC Folk and Bluegrass Music, and to send you into your day singing.
Veteran performer Charles Pettee, (mandolin, octave mandolin, banjo, harmonica, vocals), draws on his experience from over 6,000 performances with the world-touring Shady Grove Band (“One of our state’s musical treasures.” Raleigh News & Observer), and across his 30-year career as a touring musician and teaching artist in schools throughout the southeastern US.
Son Jackson Pettee (guitar, vocals) grew up with music in the home all his life. Jackson adds his experience performing with the UNC Bluegrass Ensemble, and with his role as coordinator and guitar player for the weekly Carrboro “Beer and Banjos” concert series, which has drawn music lovers to Carrboro, NC on a weekly basis since 2021. The duo released their first full-length album, “Slippery Hill Bluegrass” in December 2024.
